VI Peel Chemical Peeling Treatment Vancouver, WA
Dr. Grishkevich offers VI chemical peel treatments to improve your complexion, reduce signs of aging, and enhance skin health
What is a VI Chemical Peel?
Our VI chemical peel is unique among other types of chemical peels. The VI peel contains a precise combination of trichloroacetic acid, salicylic acid, and acids to better penetrate your skin and produce superior results. The VI skin peeling system was developed as an acne chemical peel initially. The solution was proven to reduce acne by deep cleaning the pores of the skin. Since that time, the VI peel has become a leading chemical peel for dark spots, fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, dullness, and other concerns.
How Do Chemical Peeling Products Work?
Chemical peeling products contain certain types of acid that safely remove the damaged layers of skin. Skin peeling helps with a variety of aesthetic concerns, such as acne, acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and dull, dry skin. A light chemical peel is great for general skin maintenance and freshening up your complexion for a special even, such as for a pre-wedding facial treatment. A medium chemical peel is good for moderate signs of aging, such as wrinkles and sun damage. A deep chemical peel is for more advanced and severe signs of aging, such as deep wrinkles and creases in your skin. Depending on the type of peel, the solution may contain alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, trichloroacetic acid (TCA), or phenol.
VI Peel Benefits
VI peel is an advanced skin peeling treatment that requires less downtime compared to other types of chemical peels. It can be used for a range of concerns, from exfoliating dead skin to reducing deep wrinkles and creases. We recommend VI peel for acne-prone skin and most other skin types.
Is the VI Chemical Peel Right for Me?
VI peel ingredients, such as trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is safe for all skin types and tones. VI peel produces peeling that addresses specific concerns, and it can be used for general skin health maintenance. Our VI peel is not recommended for women who are pregnant or nursing.
Procedure for a VI Chemical Peel at NW Laser in Vancouver, WA
Before your VI peel facial, we thoroughly clean your skin to remove any superficial oils, dirt, and dead skin cells. Next, we apply the first layer of chemicals for the VI peel process. You may feel a tingling sensation as the solution starts to penetrate the epidermis. A second solution is added, and this part of the skin feeling on your face causes the skin to turn a light white color. Sunscreen is applied to your skin, and you can leave our office. The peeling skin on your face continues at home, and you can resume your normal activities. You are given instructions on how and when to remove the solution and peeled skin. It typically takes four to six hours for the peeling process. A VI chemical peel for acne scars may require more than one treatment.
VI Chemical Peel Recovery and Results
A VI peel is a day-by-day process, and we encourage you to be patient. The VI peel healing process takes up to one week, and your skin will continue to peel and flake during this time. Avoid exfoliating your skin during this time, and let the process take place naturally. Follow the VI peel instructions carefully, as your home care greatly affects VI peel results. As part of your VI peel after care, we will recommend the best moisturizer to use after a chemical peel.
VI Peel Side Effects and Risks
VI peel side effects are rare. Some of the more common side effects are swelling, infection, itching, burning sensation, allergic reactions, and blisters. Skin discoloration after chemical peel treatments is another potential side effect.
